Trojans Wrap Up Home Stand with Doubleheader Against Southern Miss

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team concludes its six-game home stand with a doubleheader against Southern Miss on Tuesday afternoon at the Troy Softball Complex, beginning at 4 p.m.

Troy (15-21-2) dropped two-of-three to Georgia State over the weekend, allowing six runs in each contest. The Trojans did score nine runs in the second game, the second most runs they've scored in a game this season.

Ebony Wright continues to pace the Trojans in batting average at .326. Amanda Winters and Michelle Phelps hit back-to-back home runs in the first game against Georgia State and now sit in a tie for the team-lead in that category with five.

Southern Miss (18-17) won its last series, picking up two wins against UT San Antonio. The Golden Eagles are led by Sara Evans with a .430 batting average and 23 RBIs. Mackenzie Sher leads the team with seven home runs.

Troy is 8-2 all-time against Southern Miss, including four wins last season. The Trojans will hit the road following the game for seven straight contests away from home.
