Men’s Hoops Set for Sun Belt Tournament, Face UALR Thursday

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Postseason play begins on Thursday, as Troy will take on UALR at Lakefront Arena in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will be televised on CSS and can also be seen on ESPN3.

Troy (11-19, 6-12) earned the eighth seed in the tournament after picking up a 72-50 win last Saturday. The Trojans are led this season by Hunter Williams at 14.0 points per game. Antoine Myers and Tevin Calhoun are also scoring in double-figures, at 12.1 and 10.4 points per game respectively.
The Trojans have been playing well of late, winning 2-of-3 to close out the regular season. Troy took down ULM on the road two weeks ago and fell in double-overtime to UT Arlington last Thursday.
UALR (14-16, 9-9 SBC) finished fifth in the Sun Belt and also won 2-of-3 to close out the season. UALR is led by second team All-Sun Belt selection Will Neighbor at 16.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
Troy split its two regular season games with UALR, with the road team winning each. Troy is 6-7 all-time against UALR.
Troy won its first game of the Sun Belt Tournament last year, defeating Florida Atlantic in overtime.
