JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Five games await the Trojans in the Sunshine State, as Troy softball (2-2-1) heads to the Osprey Invitational, hosted by North Florida.Â
Live stats will be available on the softball schedule page on TroyTrojans.com.
Troy begins the Invitational against Southern Illinois at 9 a.m. on Friday. The Trojans will also take on North Florida on Friday, Savannah State and UNF on Saturday and Ohio University on Sunday.
The Trojans opened up the 2014 season last weekend at the Troy Subway Invitational. Troy dropped its first game to Northwestern State before picking up a pair of shutout wins over Kennesaw State and Memphis on Saturday. It was the first time in nearly seven years that the Trojans had picked up two shutouts in the same day. Troy wrapped up the Invitational with a loss to in-state rival Alabama in front of a record crowd of 2,078 fans.
Jaycee Affeldt has been strong in the circle for the Trojans this season. Affeldt picked up a shutout against Kennesaw State and was solid against the Crimson Tide.
Newcomer Alison Milam currently leads the team in batting at .364. Michelle Phelps is leading the way with six RBIs on the year while Erica Davis is leading the team with 10 total bases.
Troy is 1-1 all-time against Southern Illinois, 5-4 against North Florida and 0-1 against Ohio. The Trojans have never faced Savannah State.
