Jones, Lewis Ranked Among Nation’s Best

TROY, Alabama – Troy junior midfielder Alissa Jones and freshman goalkeeper Mikki Lewis are ranked among the nation's best players according to the country's leading amateur soccer website, TopDrawerSoccer.com.
Jones was the lone Sun Belt Conference player named to the National Top 100, while Lewis ranked 19 spots above South Alabama's Charde Hannah as the only two Sun Belt members on the Freshman Top 100 list.
Lewis, a St. Johns, Florida, native was recognized as the No. 45 ranked freshman in the nation. After posting a league-high 11 shutouts, Lewis was named second team All-Sun Belt and All-Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Her 16 wins, 0.81 goals against average and shutout total are all school records.
Jones was named the No. 99 ranked college player in the nation. The Mustang, Oklahoma, native scored 12 goals and recorded 10 assists; her assist total is a new program, single-season record. She also set new Troy single-season marks in shots (95), points (34), game-winning goals (7) as well as single-game shots (11) and tied the single-game assist record with three against UALR.
Jones was named First Team All-Sun Belt and helped lead the Trojans to a second place finish in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament; it was the program's first-ever appearance in the league title game. Jones was fifth in the NCAA and led the conference with seven game-winning goals, she was also ranked in the top 50 in the NCAA in assists per game (.45), points per game (1.55), total assists (10), total goals (12) and total points (34).
Both Lewis and Jones were named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's All-South Region team earlier this month.
