WINTER PARK, Florida – The Troy men's tennis team continued play at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational hosted by Rollins College on Saturday. The Trojans will have one singles player in a final on Sunday while both doubles teams are still in the hunt for tournament titles.

Gabriel Sciacca Dias won two matches on Saturday to advance to the final of the Flight A singles draw. In a match that started on Friday but was suspended due to rain, Dias defeated Inaki Epsindula of UCF, 6-1, 7-5. Dias then won a semifinal match against Nico Dreer or Barry, 6-3, 6-1.

Dias will play in the final of Flight A on Sunday at 9 a.m. CT against Danny Riggs of Lynn University.

Giovanni Samaha and Austin Racine also advanced to semifinals for the Trojans. Samaha defeated Barry's Renato Lombardi in the quarterfinals of Flight B, 6-4, 6-2, before falling in the semifinals. Racine defeated Lynn's Alex Soury in the quarterfinals of Flight D, 6-1, 6-3, before falling in the semifinals.

Troy fourth and final singles participant, Pablo Moreno, dropped his quarterfinal match.

Moreno and Dias, the top-seeded doubles team in Flight A, won a quarterfinal against Egor Panyushkin and Guilluame Vanelven of Saint Leo, 8-3. Samaha and Racine also won a quarterfinal, defeating Casey Austgen and Keegan Burger of Rollins, 8-3.
