Trojans Complete First Day of Practice

TROY, Alabama- With the 2014-15 season just over a month away, the Troy men's basketball team hit the court on Friday at Trojan Arena for its first practice of the year. The squad worked through a series of position drills and had an emphasis on defense.

Troy returns just two letter winners from last year's squad including senior Kevin Thomas and sophomore Kelton Ford. Thomas and Ford both saw action in all 31 games last season with Thomas averaging 9.2 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per contest. Â Â

The Troy roster features nine newcomers and is one of the youngest in the nation, with a total of just seven years of Division I experience.

Troy opens the 2014-15 season with a home exhibition against West Florida on November 6. The Trojans open their regular season with two home games, the first on November 14 against Brewton-Parker and the second against SEC opponent, Ole Miss.

For the second time in three seasons an SEC team will visit Trojan Arena when Ole Miss makes the trip to the on Monday, November 17. After that, Troy travels to both Georgia and Southern Miss.

The Trojans again face a double round-robin Sun Belt schedule that allows fans to see every conference team inside Trojan Arena, including newcomers to the conference Appalachian State and Georgia Southern. The Sun Belt schedule starts on December 30 at home against Texas State.
