Troy Puts Win Streak on the Line Against ULM

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's basketball team (7-9, 2-2 SBC) puts its two-game winning streak on the line on Thursday night as ULM (4-7, 1-2 SBC) comes to Trojan Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Trojans picked up a pair of wins on the road last week, knocking off Arkansas State and UALR. Tevin Calhoun was the star of the show, scoring 35 points against the Red Wolves, the most points by an individual in a Sun Belt game this season. He would go on to tie for the team lead in points against UALR, scoring 17.

Troy did the majority of its damage from range, shooting 48 percent (24-of-50) from 3-point range over the two games. The Trojans also showed their dominance on the glass, outrebounding the two opponents by an average of 12.5 boards per game.

Troy is led this season by Antoine Myers at 12.7 points per game. Hunter Williams is also scoring in double-figures, at 11.3 points per contest.

As a team, Troy is outrebounding its opponents by 9.8 boards per game in SBC contests, by far the best average in the conference. Five Trojans are ranked in the top-16 in the league in rebounds per conference game.

ULM has dropped two straight, after falling at UT Arlington and at home against Texas State last week. The Warhawks opened up conference play with a double-overtime win over UL Lafayette.

Tylor Ongwae leads the Warhawks in scoring at 14.9 points per game. Amos Olatayo and Jayon James are also scoring in double-figures, at 13.9 and 10.6 points per game, respectively. James' 6.8 rebounds per game leads the squad.

Troy is 8-2 all-time against ULM, including an eight-game winning streak. Last season, Troy won both matchups, including an overtime game in Monroe in late January.
