Troy Men’s Golf Earns GCAA Academic Honors

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University men's golf team earned Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team honors after posting a combined grade-point-average over 3.0 for the 2012-13 academic year.
"We place a high priority on academics and it is nice to see their hard work in the classroom rewarded," head coach Matt Terry said. "Our young men put in a lot of hours both on and off the golf course to represent Troy University in the best way possible."
This marks the second straight year that the Troy men's program has been recognized for its academic excellence by the GCAA. The Trojans are one of just two current members of the Sun Belt Conference to be named a GCAA All-Academic Team.
The 2012-13 men's golf team included Alex Barnes, Phillip Brennan, Wil Clowdus, Tolver Dozier, Will Garner, Jacob Harper, Kyle Thommesen and Jake Tucker.
