2013 Schedule
TROY, Ala. – A week away from opening its regular season, the Troy soccer team will face the University of Mobile in an exhibition game on Sunday at 4p.m. at the Troy Soccer Complex.
Coming off a 9-10-2 season in 2012, Troy returns eight starters including the Sun Belt's leader in assists, senior forward Cecilia Thorngren. The Trojans also return three starting defenders, three starting midfielders and senior goalkeeper Madison Winter from last season's squad. Head coach Chris Bentley also brings eight newcomers to the 2013 squad that is looking to gain playing experience during Troy's two exhibition matches.
"I think the big thing for us is to get a bunch players out and get playing time. It's important for us to get a lot of players looks to see what we can do," Bentley said. "We're really blessed with a diverse group of girls, so it's a matter of finding what players can fit into these roles."
Troy wraps up exhibition play against Auburn-Montgomery on Tuesday at 3 p.m. before taking to the road to face Alabama State to open the regular season on Friday at 7 p.m.
All Troy home games will be streamed live on TroyTrojans.com and live stats will be available for every match. The Trojans open up their home schedule by hosting the 2013 Trojan Classic on Friday, Aug. 30 versus Louisiana Tech at 3 p.m.
