Tucker, Dozier Named to Sun Belt All-Conference Golf Team

TROY, Ala. – Jake Tucker and Tolver Dozier earned second team All-Sun Belt honors as voted on by the league's coaches, the conference announced on Thursday.
The postseason award marks the second straight year Troy has finished with at least one All-Conference player, as Ricky Casko graduated with the honor a year ago.
Tucker, who just completed his sophomore season, finished the year ranked 11th in the Sun Belt with a 74.70 stroke average. The Cullman, Ala., native finished outside the top-25 only once all season, and closed out the year strong with two top-10 finishes over his last three events. Tucker finished T23rd, T24th, T23rd and T25th in his four tournaments in the fall, before finishing T14th, T59th, T17th, T7th, T22nd, and T7th to close out the spring.
The sophomore led the Trojans in four of their 10 team tournaments, and improved on his average finish of 34th a year ago, to an average of 22nd in the 2012-13 season. Tucker's career stroke average now moves to 74.28 entering his junior season.
Dozier finished his sophomore season ranked No. 20 in the Sun Belt and picked up his first career tournament win in just his second year of collegiate golf. Dozier averaged 75.33 strokes per round and also finished as Troy's low player in four of the 10 team tournaments.
The Dothan, Ala., native carded finishes of 3rd, T19th, T23rd, and T1st last fall, before finishing T34th, 80th, T17th, T24th, T27th, and T34th to close out the season. Dozier became the first men's golfer in five years to pick up a tournament win last November, and did it with style after sinking a 15-foot birdie to claim the victory on a playoff hole. Dozier's career stroke average moves to 74.37 entering his junior season.
