Bolla Earns Athlete of the Week Honors

TROY, Ala. – Senior hammer throw specialist Nicolo Bolla has earned the Sun Belt Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week following his impressive performance at the Coach “O” Invitational last weekend.

“He had a great weekend,” said assistant coach Shawn Williams. “The most impressive part was his consistency. He threw three P.R.'s that day, breaking the school and conference record.”

Bolla threw for 65.78 meters, setting a new school and conference record and blowing out the competition. He also set a new meet record, on his way to earning his second athlete of the week honor of the season. Bolla is currently ranked fourth in the region and 11th in the nation.

The Trojans next head to Miami, Fla., for the Sun Belt Conference Championships on from May 10 to May 12.
