Trojans Earn Three All-Sun Belt Tennis Honors

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Troy women's tennis team picked up an All-Sun Belt singles and doubles selection on Wednesday as announced by the conference at the awards banquet on the eve of the Sun Belt Championships.
Senior Karoline Grymel was a first team All-Sun Belt singles selection while the doubles pair of Anja Cosovic and Candela Munoz Giron earned a first team doubles spot. All three were vital as Troy won 13 of 14 matches to close the season, earning the No.3 seed and a bye into Friday's quarterfinals at the Sun Belt Championships.
Grymel posted an 18-15 record in singles play during the 2012-13 season, including a 13-9 mark in dual matches, but she really came on in the late part of the season, posting a 12-2 record during Troy's final stretch.
Freshman Cosovic and sophomore Munoz Giron posted a 12-1 record on the season, all in dual matches, including an 11-1 mark in Troy's stretch run. The pair found themselves in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) national doubles rankings last week.
The All-Sun Belt award is the third of Grymel's career as she earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt singles and doubles team last season. The award is the first of the career for both Cosovic and Munoz Giron.
The Trojans are set to open the Sun Belt Championships on Friday. The third-seeded Trojans will face the winner of No.6 Middle Tennessee and No.11 Arkansas State in the quarterfinals at 11:30 a.m. on Friday in Lafayette, La.
