MOBILE, Ala. – The Troy University track and field team had a very successful meet on Saturday at the Jaguar Invitational on the campus of South Alabama. Troy won eight events on the day, including both 4x100-meter relays.
“With this number of personal bests and season-best times, it made the statement that we wanted,” head coach Jill Lancaster said. “We have created a confidence in all of our hard work up to this point.”
Ja-Courtney Alexander took home a couple of wins on Saturday. Her time of 55.36 in the 400-meter dash was more than a second faster than the second place finisher, and was the fastest time of the season for any Trojan. Alexander would go on to win the 400-meter hurdles as well, completing the event in 1:03.83.
Both the men's and women's 4x100-meter relay teams took home first place. The women's squad of Ashley Hall, Alexander, Adria Hill and Paige McMillan edged out South Alabama to win the event in 46.67 seconds. The men's squad of Neko Freeman, Jordan Landburg, Benjamin Martin and Thaddeus Curtis finished in 40.89 seconds.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Douglas Dyer, Zachary Calhoun, Freeman and Curtis barely edged out South Alabama for the win, completing the event in 3:18.80
Nicolo Bolla dominated the hammer throw, winning the event by almost seven meters with a throw of 60.78 meters.
