Pair of Trojans Awarded Athlete of the Week

New Orleans, LA. - The Sun Belt Conference announced Thaddeus Curtis and Eddie Lynn as Sun Belt Athletes of the Week for their efforts this past weekend at the Alabama Relays today.
“We are delighted with the efforts of these two athletes this past weekend at Alabama Relays,” said head coach Jill Lancaster. “To be recognized by the coaches of the conference is an exceptional compliment to these athletes's talent.”
“Even more important is the fact that they both have more to offer in the coming weeks as they prepare for the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships.”
Junior Thaddeus Curtis was named Sun Belt Track Athlete of the Week after producing two season best times at the Alabama Relays. Curtis ran a 14.43 in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing eighth giving him the number one ranking in the Sun Belt. Curtis finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.41 moving him to number five in the current Sun Belt rankings.
Senior Eddie Lynn was awarded the Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week after setting a new school record in discus throwing 175' 9” at the Alabama Relays. Lynn's fourth place finish came after breaking his previous school record for discus throw by two feet. Lynn's throw moved him to number one in the Sun Belt and to #16 in the east region.
