STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – The Troy women's golf team opened play under rough conditions on Monday at the 20th Annual John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate, and finished the rounds of 36 in eighth heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes.
Rain-soaked grounds and windy conditions forced tough play at the Eagles Landing Country Club all day, as teams finished the second round just before dark.
Troy opened the first round with a 324 and sat fifth entering round two, but dropped to a 331 in the following round to finish the day in eighth at 79-over; tournament leader Old Dominion shot just a 45-over over 36 holes, as last-place Murray State fired a 99-over par total verifying the days' tough conditions.
Sofia Bjorkman shot a 78 in the first round and sat tied for fifth, but fell to a tie for 26th at the conclusion of day one after a 12-over par, 84, to enter Tuesday at 162, 18-over.
Sara Fennvik, Sydney Conrad, and Langley Vannoy all finished the day at 21-over and enter Tuesday tied for 40th. Fennvik carded scores of 80 and 85, while Conrad and Vannoy each shot 83 and 82 in their rounds.
Taylor McGraw finished just two strokes behind the trio at 23-over after firing rounds of 84 and 83, and will enter the final round tied for 47th.

Tuesday's final round from the Eagle's Landing Country Club is slated for a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
