TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Trojans wrapped up competition at the Alabama Relays on Saturday, with several athletes posting their best performances of the season in a highly competitive meet. Competition was called off due to inclement weather.
“It was a great meet until it got called for weather,” said head coach Jill Lancaster. “The throwers jumped on great weather this morning and came out with some great marks.”
The squad of Neko Freeman, Jordan Landburg, Benjamin Martin and Phillip Pritchett took third in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 40.83 seconds.
Jasmine Patton placed third in the 100-meter hurdles, completing the event in 14.11 seconds, a season best. Eddie Lynn grabbed a fourth place finish in the discus, among several regional qualifiers, with a toss of 53.56 meters, breaking his own school record and moving up into 14th in the region.
The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Ashley Hall, Ja-Courtney Alexander, Adria Hill and Veronica Bryant placed fifth at 46.96 seconds. Thaddeus Curtis's time of 14.43 seconds was good enough for eighth in the 110-meter hurdles.
The Trojans now travel to the Jaguar Invitational on the campus of the University of South Alabama on Saturday, March 30.
