Trojans Host Southern Miss Saturday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team will host its home opener on Saturday as Southern Miss visits the Lunsford Tennis Complex for a 1 p.m. match.
The Trojans (1-4) played their first five matches of the season on the road and they enter having lost four straight. Two of losses came against ranked competition in No.21 Auburn and No.42 UNC Wilmington.
Sami Ghorbel has been a bright spot in the early stages of the season for the Trojans, posting a 4-1 record in singles play with the lone loss coming at UNC Wilmington. Ghorbel and his doubles partner, Andre Stabile, have posted a 2-2 mark on the season at first doubles.
Southern Miss (5-2) comes in on a two-match winning streak with wins over UC Riverside and New Mexico State in Las Vegas last weekend. The Golden Eagles two losses this season have come to UNLV and No.25 LSU.
Southern Miss will likely counter Ghorbel and Stabile with Matt Frost and Andrew Goodwin, the 60th ranked doubles pair in the ITA rankings.
