Trojans In Contention Entering Tuesday's Final Round

Day One Results
MOBILE, Ala. – The Troy women's golf team opened up its spring season Monday at the 11th Annual USA Women's Invitational, and shot a team score 314 to finish day one in sixth.
Due to rain and weather conditions in the Mobile area, Monday's start of the tournament at the Azalea City Golf Club was delayed multiple times. Play began around the noon hour which only allowed for 18 holes to be played Monday, making the event a 36-hole format with the final 18 to be played Tuesday.
Taylor McGraw led the Trojans as she fired a five-over par, 77, in the rain-shortened day. All five of Troy's golfers started out on hole eight, as McGraw strung together six bogeys, before carding a birdie on the fourth hole to finish day one tied for 10th.
Sofia Bjorkman, the Sun Belt's top golfer statistically, struggled to begin play carding seven bogeys, but rebounded on the final eight to shoot under-par on two holes and enter Tuesday's final round tied for 15th at six-over par.
Langley Vannoy, Sydney Conrad and Sara Fennvik all finished the first 18 within one stroke each other, as Vannoy shot a 79, while Conrad and Fennvik each carded 80's.
The host school South Alabama led the field of 14 in their home event, as the Jaguars shot a 306 to lead the second place ULM Warhawks by just four strokes. Emelie Westrup from UALR fired the day's low round, a 73, and enters Tuesday's round just one stroke ahead of a host of contenders.
Tuesday's action will feature the final 18 holes with a shotgun start slated for 8:30 a.m. Live stats will be available through www.GolfStat.com.
