Troy (3-4) comes into the game looking to snap a two-game losing skid that includes a loss to Florida at home on Wednesday. The Trojans fell victim to a 21-0 run in the first half as the Gators pulled away early.
The Trojans enter Sunday's game averaging 84.0 points per game, the best in the Sun Belt, over 10 points better than second place WKU (73.4 ppg). Troy has scored 80 points in three of seven games and entered the week ranked 12th in the NCAA in scoring.
Senior Joanna Harden (24.3 ppg) leads Troy and the Sun Belt in scoring by more than six points over second place Ashleigh Simmons (18.0 ppg) of ULM. Entering the week, Harden ranked fourth in the NCAA at 26.3 points per game. She scored 12 against Florida, snapping a streak of five straight with 20-plus points.
Harden is one of three Trojans averaging double-figures, joining Ashley Beverly-Kelley (13.9 ppg) and Brooke Bowie (10.4 ppg). Beverly-Kelley scored a team-high 19 against Florida while Bowie scored 13 points.
Evansville (4-4) comes to Troy after a home win over IPFW on Wednesday, 80-67. IPFW was one game removed from defeating No. 21 Michigan State before falling to Evansville.
The Purple Aces are led in scoring by freshman Sara Dickey (17.9 ppg) while Mallory Ladd averages a double-double at 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
Troy is 0-1 all-time against Evansville with the lone meeting coming in 2011-12 on a neutral court at Maine. Evansville won that game 59-49 at the Dead River Classic in what was Oties Epps', now in his third season, first career win as a head coach.
