Cross Country Heads to Greater Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following an off-week, the Troy University cross country team travels to the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
"This is the big regular season meet we've been looking forward to," said cross country coach Jeff Jenkins. "For the first time this season, both genders will be racing the same distance that they'll be racing at the Sun Belt Championships in four weeks."
Several other Sun Belt schools will be present at the meet, including the preseason-favorite on the women's side Arkansas State. Georgia State, South Alabama and Western Kentucky will also be in attendance.
The Trojans are just four weeks away from the SBC Championships and are looking to solidify their top-5 moving forward.Â
"This is also the first time that I feel like we have all five of our top runners healthy and really fit," Jenkins said. "We will see more competition at this meet than any meet we will go to all year including several Sun Belt and South Region programs. I'm looking for our women's team to prove that they're one of the best in Troy history and for the men's program to show that they're heading in that same direction."
