Troy Baseball Completes Successful Fall Exhibition

TROY, Ala. – The Troy baseball team turned in a successful performance against the Ontario Blue Jays in the Trojans lone fall exhibition.

David Hall hit three home runs and singled accounting for five RBIs eight plate appearances. The Troy right fielder also walked once and scored four times.
Â
First baseman Trevin Hall finished with four hits while Tyler Vaughn, Garrett Pitts, Jakob Nixon and Kyle Brown all had three hits each.

On the mound, Shane McCain, reigning Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year, and Tanner Hicks tosses three scoreless innings each. McCain finished with five strikeouts while Hicks registered three.

"It's a chance for us to see where we are, see where we need work," Troy head coach Bobby Pierce said. "I saw some good things and saw some areas where we need to see improvement. Overall, it was a good experience."

The Ontario Blue Jays are a high-level summer baseball program from Ontario that competes in the Premier Baseball League of Ontario (PBLO). Among the other schools the Blue Jays will play exhibition games against are Western Kentucky, Georgia State and Florida State on this leg of their tour around the United States.
