Trojans Continue Play at ITA Regional

AUBURN, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team had four matches scheduled at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championship on Saturday. After rain delays, three of the four matches were played, with Brooke Durden advancing to Sunday's play.
Durden, playing in the B singles consolation round of 16, moved to the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Eva Castiglioni of Nicholls State. Durden will face Louisiana Tech's Manoela Chiacchio in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
In main doubles play, Lyubov Dorofeeva and Anja Cosovic fell in the round of 16 to fifth-seeded Mary Anne Daines and Natalia Mayretto of Alabama, 8-3.
Cosovic also played a singles match on Saturday, falling in the round of 16 of the main singles consolation. Durden and Margot De Haan were scheduled to play in the B doubles consolation bracket, but the match was canceled due to rain and will not be played.
