TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Trojans are back in action on Friday night at the Crimson Classic at the Harry Pritchett Running Park in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The women's 5k will begin at 5 p.m., while the men's 8k take place at 5:30 p.m.
"This meet means a lot to our team so that we can preview the NCAA South Regional Championship course before we run on it again on November 15," said cross country coach Jeff Jenkins. "The Crimson Classic is an excellent cross country course and a major opportunity for these athletes to put down one last good mark before we transition into our championship season.
"There will be a huge amount of division 1 schools there so we have an opportunity to show just how good we are at this point. Our biggest challenge will be to avoid making the mistakes that we made in Louisville so that we can get through the first third of the race without any major issues. The athletes are beaming with confidence after this week's training and the race at Coach O. Now it's just time to ride that wave through these last four weeks."
Troy will be competing against some of the top competition in the region this weekend, including three Sun Belt opponents on the men's side and four on the women's side.
