Troy Track & Field Releases 2013 Schedule

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University track and field team and head coach Jill Lancaster have released the schedule for the 2013 track and field Season.
“We have a great track schedule this year,” Lancaster said. “We have had a long fall of training and are excited to get the season under way.”
“We will be traveling to several different places, including North Carolina for the Outdoor NCAA Regional Championships,” said Lancaster. “The competition will be fierce and the courses will be tough. Our team includes a large senior group this year and we are ready to advance throughout the season.”
The Trojan women will open the indoor season in Birmingham, Ala., as they visit UAB for the UAB Invitational. The Trojans will begin action on January 10 and complete the invitational on Friday, January 11.
Troy will then travel to Jonesboro, Ark., to compete in the Arkansas State Invitational January 25. Following the Arkansas State Invitational, the women will see action in Murfreesboro, Tenn., at the MTSU Invitational February 2.
The Trojans will return to Birmingham February 8 and 9 to participate in the Samford Invitational. Troy will finish its regular season by competing in the Sun Belt Indoor Championships February 24-25 in Jonesboro, Ark.
The men's track team will join the women for the outdoor season, which starts March 6 at the Jaguar Opener in Mobile, Ala. The Trojans will then travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the Shamrock Invitational.
Troy will return to Alabama to compete in the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on March 22 and 23 before traveling back to Mobile, Ala., for the Jaguar Invitational on March 30.
Auburn will play host to Troy on April 5 and 6 when the Trojans compete in the Tiger Track Classic. The Trojans will travel to Athens, Ga., April 12 and 13 for the GA Spec Town Relays. Troy then returns to Auburn April 19 and 20 for the War Eagle Invitational.
Troy will play host to several teams April 27 for the annual Coach “O” Invitational Track and Field meet that will take place at the Troy Soccer Complex. The Trojans will end the regular season by traveling to Miami, Fla., for the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships. Troy will begin the outdoor championship season starting in Greensboro, NC, for the NCAA Outdoor Regional Championship.
