Trojans Gain Experience at Falcon Classic

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Troy women's cross country team competed in the Falcon Classic this past weekend at the University of Montevallo. The 6K race gave several Trojans experience and practice in a meet setting.
Junior Abby Barnett finished 63rd for the Trojans with a time of 28:35.84. She was followed by junior Sally Taunton came in 69th with a time of 29:18.88.
“We all came out and proved to ourselves and our program that we have the will to do whatever it takes to get better every day,” Taunton said.
“As Coach Lancaster always says, a true competitor never gives up, they give it their all,” junior Ja-Courtney Alexander said. “Never doubt your abilities, because you can go wherever you believe you can if you let your heart do the thinking.”
Alexander finished the race in 75th with a time of 30:25.32.
Junior Luv Dean, sophomore Tiffany Slater and senior Jasmine Patton finished 80th, 82nd, and 88th respectively for the Trojans.
The Trojans will be back in action on October 5, when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the FSU Invitational.
