Trojans Start Season at Trojan Invitational

FINAL RESULTS
Troy, Ala.- The Troy men's and women's cross country team got off to a strong start to the 2012 season, Saturday morning, at the Troy Trojan Invitational. The Troy's women team finished second at it's home race, while the men's team finished in third place.
The Troy women's team scored 43 points, just behind Auburn who scored 28 points to win the the 2012 Troy Trojan Invitational. Freshman Julia Ostendorf finished third overall with a time of 20:53.47. Senior Morgan Paulson and junior Haley Davies rounded out the top ten of today's meet.
Sophomores Kendall Harris and Anna Claire Scarlett finished 12th and 13th respectively for the Trojans, while Jackie Smith finished 18th.
Robin Blackman, Abby Barrett and Allison Paulson finished 20th, 21st and 22nd, while Sally Taunton finished 24th to round out the top-25 for Troy.
Troy's men's team was led by Enock Kirui who finished third with a time of 28:33.71. Kemper Morton earned a top-five finish by finishing fifth with a time of 28:55.57.
Sam Ammons, Phillip Jones, and Garric Hawkins finished back-to-back-to-back to finish 15th, 16th, and 17th, respectively.
The Trojans also picked up two more top-20 finishes as Cameron Sanchez and Landry Key, finished 19th and 20th for the Trojans.
