Troy Track & Field Earns High Academic Praise

NEW ORLEANS – The Troy University men's and women's track & field teams were both named United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams for the 2012 season, the USTFCCCA recently announced.
Troy is one of only two Sun Belt Conference schools (Western Kentucky) and the only school in the state of Alabama to have both its men's and women's programs recognized by the USTFCCCA. The Trojan women finished the year with a combined 3.27 grade-point-average (GPA) while the Trojan men combined for a 3.05 GPA.
The Troy men were one of only 85 NCAA Division I programs to earn the USTFCCCA team honor and the women were one of 171 programs to earn the team honor. Last week, Neko Freeman and Larry Henry received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for maintaining a cumulative 3.25 GPA and qualifying for the NCAA Preliminary meet.
