Troy Track Duo Receives USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Troy University track & field athletes Neko Freeman and Larry Henry received United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, the association announced Wednesday.
In order to qualify for USTFCAA All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade-point-average and qualify for the NCAA Preliminary meet.
Freeman, a rising senior from Lawrenceville, Ga., qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary meet in the 100m dash after taking second place in the event at the Sun Belt Conference Championships with a time of 10.46 seconds. Freeman carries a 3.27 GPA while majoring in sport and fitness management.
Henry, a rising senior from Hinesville, Ga., won the Sun Belt Conference high jump championship with a mark of 2.11 meters which qualified him for the NCAA East Preliminary meet; he finished 25th following a jump of 2.07 meters. Henry will graduate from Troy on Friday with a 3.25 GPA in social science; he is attending graduate school at Troy in the fall.
