Wright Named to NABC Honors Court

Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the NABC Honors Court, recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2011-12 season.
Among those honored was Troy senior Justin Wright. Wright posted a 3.43 GPA during the 2011-12 academic year, his first at Troy, while majoring in social science. Wright came to Troy after spending two years at Pensacola State College.
Wright was the only player from the Sun Belt named to the NABC Honors Court.
In order to be named to the NABC Honors Court, players must meet all four of the criteria listed below:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2011-12 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Institution.
On the court in 2011-12, the Pace, Fla., native played in all 28 games, with 16 starts, while averaging 10.3 points per game, the third highest total on the team. Wright averaged 10.6 points per contest in Sun Belt action and scored in double-figures 14 times.
Wright joins three other seniors (Ray Chambers, Alan Jones and Emil Jones) in 2012-13 as the Trojans open their regular season in the brand-new Trojan Arena against Mississippi State on November 9, 2012.
