Trojans Named Sun Belt Athlete of the Week

TROY, Ala. – Two Troy track and field athletes have been named the Sun Belt Athlete of the Week after the Coach “O” Invitational.
JaCourtney Alexander was named the female track athlete of the week. Alexander set a season best in the 400 meters placing first with a time of 54.35, moving her to second all-time at Troy and second in the Sun Belt. She also placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 24.14 moving her to third in the Sun Belt. She also ran the 4x400 relay, which placed first with a time of 3:49.24 setting a team personal best and moving them to 5th in the Sun Belt. In the 4x100 relay, they placed second with a time of 45.72 setting a personal best and moving them to second in the Sun Belt.
Nicolo' Bolla was named the male field athlete of the week. Bolla placed first in the hammer throw with distance of 63.85 meters breaking his own school record for the fourth time. This moves him to first in the Sun Belt, and 10th in the NCAA East Region. Bolla not only set a personal best, but also set a meet record. He was also awarded the Coach “O” watch for top male performance.
The Trojans performance at their last regular season meet will lead them into the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships in Lafayette, La. on May 11-13. For complete information check troytrojans.com.
