Trojans Prepare for the Tiger Track Classic

TROY, Ala. – The Troy track & field team will be heading to Auburn, Ala. today to compete in the Tiger Track Classic.
“The competition at Auburn will be our toughest to date this season,” head coach Jill Lancaster said. “Timing of warm-up recovery and nutrition will be vital tools due to the length of the competition.”
The Trojans are coming off an exciting week at the Jaguar Invitational, where ten athletes were champions. Many athletes rank top in the Sun Belt, and aspire to reach nationals this year.
The meet begins tonight at 4:00 p.m. with the men's hammer and the women's javelin, and they will end with the women's hammer and men's javelin at 6:00 p.m.
“We expect the javelin and hammer throwers to start the meet off right on Friday continuing their success thus far,” Lancaster said.
Saturday will begin with the Trojans competing in the pole vault at 11:00 a.m., and the running events set to begin at 11:30 a.m. to be on a rolling schedule. The women's 4x100 team will begin the running events for the Trojans.
The men's shot put will be the last field event of the day at 5:00 p.m., and the men's 3000-meters will be the final running event for the Trojans at 7:00 p.m.
“After such a strong showing at South Alabama last week, we are excited to watch the progress of the team,” Lancaster said.
Full results will be available on troytrojans.com following the meet. For up-to-date action follow @TroyAthletics on twitter.
