Softball Visits WKU for Three-Game Set

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Troy softball team returns to Sun Belt play this weekend as it visits WKU for a three-game set, beginning on Friday evening.

The Trojans (22-12, 4-6) and Lady Toppers (21-14-1, 4-4-1) get things started with a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and conclude with a single game on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Troy comes into the weekend after a tough 1-0 loss at UAB on Tuesday. Ashley Rainey pitched well enough to win for the Trojans, but fell victim to a sixth inning delayed steal as the Blazers came away with the win.

In their last Sun Belt series, the Trojans took two of three games from FIU at home last weekend. Jaycee Affeldt posted a 0.64 ERA over 11.0 innings of work against the Panthers to help lead Troy to its first Sun Belt series win of the season.

WKU comes into the weekend after posting an 0-2-1 mark at North Texas last weekend, in a series in which WKU held a seventh inning lead in all three games. The Toppers are lead by a pitching staff that enters with a 2.53 team ERA, led by Kim Wagner's Sun Belt leading 2.36 mark.
