TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – With last week's Sun Belt series sweep and win over a Top 25 team in their rearview mirror, the Troy softball team turns its attention to No.4 Alabama as the Trojans travel to take on the Crimson Tide on Wednesday night.
The Trojans will look to pick up their fourth win of the season over a Top 25 team as they battle with the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
Troy (31-16) is coming off of a 4-0 week that started with a win over No.22 Florida State on Thursday. Troy rode the momentum of their win over the Seminoles to a three-game sweep of Sun Belt rival Middle Tennessee last weekend, including a wild 10-inning victory to clinch the sweep on Sunday.
As they have done most of the season, the Trojans came from behind in that contest to defeat the Blue Raiders, 6-5, thanks in large part to 19 hits, the most by a Sun Belt team in a game this season. Hayden Gann led the way with a 5-for-5 effort, also a Sun Belt best in 2012.
The Trojans are 8-2 in their last 10 games, and their offense has been the key as the Trojans are hitting .330 as a team over that span. That includes three regular starters (Gann, Michelle Hewett and Sarah Harris) that are hitting over .400 in the 10 game span.
Alabama (42-4) is coming off of a series at No.13 Georgia where they took two of three from the Bulldogs in Athens, Ga. The Crimson Tide dropped from second in the national polls this week due in large part to last week's home loss to Georgia State.
The loss to the Panthers was the first in non-conference play this season for the Tide who are 23-1 in non-SEC games in 2012. Alabama is 23-3 at home where they are averaging just over 2,300 fans a game.

After the contest at Alabama, the Trojans return home to host North Texas in a three-game Sun Belt series beginning on Saturday with a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. The Trojans and Mean Green will conclude their series on Sunday with a single game at 11:00 a.m.
That game will mark Senior Day for the Trojans who will honor five seniors prior to their final home game.
