Trojans Heading to the War Eagle Invitational

TROY, Ala. – The Troy track & field team are heading to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the War Eagle Invitational for their last away outdoor meet of the regular season.
Junior Enock Kirui has been invited to compete in the 5000 meter invitational tonight at 8:15 p.m. Kirui will be competing with 14 other elite athletes from a variety of schools and unattached runners.
“We are excited about the opportunity Enock has to run in the 5K Invitational,” assistant coach Casey McDermott said. “It will be a good racing environment for him to compete in leading into the Coach O and conference meets.”
The women's and men's hammer and javelin will also take place today beginning at 4:30 p.m. In the men's javelin, Martins Pildavs currently ranks fourth in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Qualifier List with a throw of 75.60 meters.
“The team will be in full contingent this week at Auburn after several players rested this previous week,” head coach Jill Lancaster said. “We will face stiff competition again this week and look to continue to rise to the occasion.”
Saturday will begin with field events at 11:00 a.m. with the women's pole vault and the men's high jump. The running events will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the women's 4x100 meter relay. The day will conclude with the men's 4x400 meter relay at 6:30 p.m.
