Trojans Set Sights on Sun Belt Championship

TROY, Ala. – After claiming a team victory in dramatic fashion at last week's Samford Women's Intercollegiate, the Troy women's golf team will look to carry the success over into Monday's start of the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
Sydney Conrad, Taylor McGraw, Langley Vannoy, Sofia Bjorkman and Haley Lawrence will travel to Muscle Shoals, Ala. to compete for the Trojans.
Lawrence, a senior who has led the team all season, enters as the sixth-ranked golfer in the Sun Belt, with a 75.77 scoring average. After finishing third in last week's event, Lawrence is still searching for her first victory of the season.
Bjorkman, who is looking to better her best finish of fourth, enters the tournament with a 76.08 average. Vannoy is the only member of the team who has captured an individual title, but she will look to improve on her scoring average of 77.40 and her low-round of 71.
Taylor McGraw and Sydney Conrad sit 33rd and 48th, respectively in the conference.
Denver, who is ranked 44th by GolfStat, enters the tournament on top of the Sun Belt with a 74.10 team average, but only a sixth place best finish. North Texas, Louisiana-Monroe, Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic enter as the only other teams without a team title.
