Trojan Improves NCAA mark at the USA Invitational

MOBILE, Ala. – Troy track & field team finish the USA Invite with many first place finishes and improving conference standings.
Martins Pildavs improved his season best performance in the men's javelin placing first with a distance of 75.60 meters and moving him up the NCAA Division I Outdoor Qualifier List. Pildavs has now broken the school record twice this season.
“As a team, we are really starting to round into championship form,” assistant coach Shawn Williams said. “Overall we had another great by everyone today.”
Nicolo' Bolla placed first in the men's hammer with a distance of 60.50 meters. Bolla is just coming off a week where he was named the Sun Belt Conference field athlete of the week.
In the men's triple jump, Larry Henry placed first with a distance of 14.31 meters. Henry also placed first in the men's high jump with a distance of 2.07 meters, and he placed seventh in the long jump with a distance of 6.47 meters.
Thaddeus Curtis placed first in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.72 seconds. Curtis also placed first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.86 seconds.
Erin Walker placed second in the women's discus throw with a distance of 45.71 meters setting a personal best and moving her to second in the Sun Belt Conference. Nicole Studstill and Ashley Evans placed third and fourth, respectively, in the discus throw. Studstill had a distance of 42.43 meters, and Evans had a distance of 41.29 meters.
Breanna Sanner placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 12.06 meters setting a season best distance, which moves her to fifth in the Sun Belt.
Adria Hill placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.52 seconds, cutting her previous time by .21seconds. Hill also placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.21 seconds.
The Trojans are steadily preparing for the Sun Belt Conference Championships in May, and they will be in action again this comin weekend at the Auburn Invitational April 20 and 21.
