Trojans Have Multiple Champions at the Jaguar Invitational

PARTIAL RESULTS
MOBILE, Ala. -- The Troy track & field team finished the Jaguar Invitational with multiple champions and school records set.
Payton McGhee placed first in the men's 100 and 200-meters. In the 100-meters, he had a time of 10.68 seconds. In the 200-meters, he had a time of 21.26 seconds.
Larry Henry set a personal best placing first in the men's high jump with a distance of 2.13 meters moving him to second all time at Troy. He also placed first in the men's triple jump with a distance of 14.22 meters.
Ashley Evans set a personal best placing first in the women's discus throw with a distance of 43.85 meters moving her to fifth all-time at Troy. Erin Walker placed second with a distance of 43.11 meters.
Jasmine Patton placed first for the women in the 100-meter hurdles, and Thaddeus Curtis placed first for the men in the 110-meter hurdles.
“Wow is all I can say,” head coach Jill Lancaster said. “This was a very impressive performance by our entire team after coming off a heavy workload week.”
In the long jump, Christina Barrett placed first in for the women with a distance of 5.49 meters. Coren Crompton placed second for the men with a distance of 5.49 meters.
In the relays, the women's 4x400 team placed first with a time of 3:51.22. Ja-Coutrney Alexander was the first leg, followed by Candice Vaughn, Ariel Cavazos and Ashley Hall. The men's 4x100 team: a, Thaddeus Curtis, Phillip Pritchett and Neko Freeman, also placed first with a time of 40.52.
In the women's 100-meter dash, Ja-Courtney Alexander and Ashley Hall placed second and third, respectively. Alexander had a time of 12.03, and Hall had a time of 12.23.
Alexus Cobbs and Tyronica Shaver placed third and fourth, respectively, in the women's triple jump. Cobbs had a distance of 11.30 meters, and Shaver had a distance of 11.27 meters.
Candince Vaugh placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.83. Ariel Cavazos placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.70 meters.
Benjamin Martin and Phillip Pritchett placed second and third, respectively, in the men's 100-meter dash. Martin finished with a time of 10.80 seconds, and Pritchett finished with a time of 10.84 seconds. Martin and Pritchett tied in the men's 200-meters with a time of 22.02 seconds.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Garyn Henderson placed third for the women with a time of 1:11.54, and Douglas Dyer placed fourth for the men with a time of 1:01.97.
In the 800-meters, Robin Blackman placed fifth for the women with a time of 2:26:07, and Anthony Harris placed third for the men with a time of 2:02.12.
"We have a lot to be excited about from this meet to lead up to the meet in Auburn," Lancaster said.
