Trojans Claim Tenth Place Finish in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Purdue's Paula Reto, who is ranked 33rd nationally by Golfweek magazine, fired a tournament-record 64 to win the individual championship at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate hosted by Augusta State University.

Reto led the No. 31 Purdue Boilermakers (299-293-295-887) to a third round 295, but that wasn't enough to claim the tournament championship. The University of Texas San Antonio (298-286-296-880) continued its consistency and ended the tournament with a score of 880 to claim the team championship.

Troy (308-307-312), who was victorious at last weekend's tournament in Hattiesburg, Miss., shot a tournament-low 312 to end the weekend in tenth place at 63-over par.

After carding first and second round scores of four and five-over par, Sofia Bjorkman (76-77-74-227) improved and led the Trojans in the final day of competition, shooting a two-over par 74. The Vanersborg, Sweden native began play on the ninth hole and carded three birdies, three bogeys and one double-bogey to end the tournament tied for 19th.

Taylor McGraw (76-75-80), who hit a season-best 15 greens in the first round, ended the weekend at 15-over par. McGraw, a native of Macon, Ga., also began play on the ninth hole. McGraw was consistent in her first three holes, but then struggled with the middle portion of the back nine to make the turn towards her final nine holes at five-over par. McGraw double-bogeyed hole one then carded a bogey on hole five to end her day at eight-over par, tied for 34th.

Langley Vannoy (77-77-77-231) continued her consistency on the weekend as she shot her third-straight five-over par to end the weekend at 15-over par. The Pensacola, Fla. Native carded three bogeys on her first nine holes to make the turn at three-over, then carded two more bogeys to end the tournament tied for 34th.

Sydney Conrad (80-78-81-239) carded a third round score of 81 to end her weekend at 23-over par, tied for 58th, while senior teammate Haley Lawrence (79-79-82-240) ended the tournament at 24-over par tied for 61st.

Troy will return to action Monday, Mar. 26 as they travel to the Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. to compete in the UALR Women's Golf Classic hosted by The University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
