CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Troy women's tennis team dropped the first of two road matches this week at Charleston Southern on Tuesday afternoon, 5-1. The Trojans and Bucs did not play the doubles point due to rain.
The Trojans (4-6) entered the match having won four of its last five matches, but ran into a Charleston Southern (6-1) team whose only loss this season came at North Florida, a place where Troy just lost last weekend.
The Trojans lone win of the day came at number two singles where Lyubov Dorofeeva fought back after dropping the first set to CSU's Angelica Sidorenko. Dorofeeva went on to win the match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, running her singles record this week to 3-1.
Karoline Grymel dropped a hard fought three-set match at number one singles, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, while all other matches went CSU's way in straight sets.
The Trojans return to the court on Thursday when they travel to Georgia Southern. The Trojans return home on Sunday when they host UALR at 10:00 a.m.
