TROY, Ala. – After a fifth place finish at the South Alabama Lady Jaguar Invitational in February, the Troy women's golf team will look to improve on their success tomorrow as they head to Hattiesburg, Miss. to compete in the Lady Eagle Invitational hosted by Southern Miss.
The Trojans will send Haley Lawrence, Sofia Bjorkman, Taylor McGraw, Langley Vannoy and Sydney Conrad to compete as a team on the 6,092 yard, par-72 course. Sara Fennvik will also travel but will not be counted in the team's statistics as she is competing as an individual.
"We are traveling with a few girls that have seen this course before and we posted some good numbers here last year,” Assistant coach Bart Barnes said. “It will also set up nicely for the new girls that haven't seen the course yet."
After completion of this tournament, the Lady Trojans will have no time to rest as they will travel on Wednesday to Augusta, Ga. to compete in the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate hosted by Augusta State University.
"We need to use this tournament to build some confidence for the week because we will be finishing play in Mississippi on Tuesday and we will leave for Augusta on Wednesday,” Barnes said. “We are looking to post some good numbers and build momentum for the season.
