Trojans Host Final Game in Sartain

Troy women's basketball will host UALR on Saturday at 5:15pm in the final game in Sartain Hall.

Troy, Ala. - Troy women's basketball will wrap up their 2012 home schedule against the Arkansas Little Rock Trojans on Saturday at 5:15pm.
Junior Sophie Kleeman will look to continue to advance her name up in the Troy record books. Kleeman currently ranks eighth in career assists with 210. She is currently tied with Heather Haney (1993-97) and is only 21 assists away from Amy Lewis (2004-08) who currently sits in 7th place with 231 assists. Kleeman is also only eight 3-pointers away from tying Chandra Bradford (1999-00) for Troy's seventh career 3-point leader. Bradford sits with 89 career 3-pointers; Kleeman has 81.
Senior Tenia Manuel continues to be a dual threat for Troy this season. She leads her team in rebounding averaging 7.0 rebounds per game. She also ranks right behind DeAngela Sword as Troy's second leading scorer with 7.8 points per game this season.
Manuel is also advancing her name through the Troy record books as she topped former Trojan Valensia Hairston (2003-07) for 9th place career rebound record in the first half against Arkansas State. Manuel recorded 5 total rebounds in the game giving her 480 career rebounds. The matchup against UALR Saturday will be Manuel's 100th career game as a Trojan.
Saturday's contest will not only be senior's Tenia Manuel, DeAngela Sword and Aarika Howard's last game at home as Trojans, it will also be the final Troy women's basketball game inside Sartain Hall as the Troy will open the 2012-13 season in the newly built Trojan Arena.
Troy women's basketball has combined for a 286-167 record in the past 37 seasons inside the confines of Sartain Hall since the inaugural season in 1975. Since then, Sartain Hall has seen the Trojans through seven different conferences, a 1980 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Championship, a 1997 Mid-Continent Conference Championship and a 1997 NCAA Tournament berth.
