Trojans Open Practice in Trojan Arena

TROY, Ala. – As the calendar turns to October, the Troy women's basketball team is fully immersed in a new era. Part of that new era is the newly constructed Trojan Arena, where the Trojans' practiced for the first time on Friday.
Another part of that new era is first-year head coach Chanda Rigby who doesn't shy away from talking about Trojan Arena.
“It's hard to even put into words what this facility means to us,” Rigby said. “We've been waiting for this moment for a while. This new facility really shows people that we're in a new era of Troy women's basketball.”
Rigby and her staff guided the 15-player roster through an afternoon session in the arena's six-basket practice court, a step up from the two baskets of Sartain Hall.
The Trojans open their season on the road at Winthrop on Sunday, November 11 before coming to Trojan Arena for their home opener on Wednesday, November 14 against Mercer.
