Bjorkman Tied for Fifth After Day One of Blue Raider Invitational

Blue Raider Invitational Day One Results

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Troy women's golf team sits tied for 13th after day one of the Blue Raider Invitational behind a 36-hole total of 614 after posting first and second round scores of 305 and 309 on Monday.

The team would have finished the second round with a 301, but a rules violation by Sara Fennvik resulted in her second round score of 75 to be dropped, therefore disqualifying her and changing the team score.

“There are two rules violations,” head coach Matt Terry said. “Allowing someone else to sign your scorecard is one and forgetting to sign it is another. Sara forgot to sign her card and so she got disqualified.”

Taylor McGraw's round two score of 83 would have been dropped and the team would have finished with a 301, but due to Fennvik's dropped score, McGraw's was counted and the team now sits tied for 13th.

Sofia Bjorkman continues to pace the Trojans as she sits tied for fifth after carding a three-over 75 in round one and an even-par 72 in the final 18 holes on Monday.

Brooke Spinks enters Tuesday's final 18 holes tied for 43rd after shooting a ten-over par, 154 in Monday's action.

Langley Vannoy will attempt to climb in the standings after claiming a tie for 60th after a 12-over par performance, while Taylor

McGraw will attempt to do the same after a 36-hole total of 164 to finish day one tied for 83rd.

Tournament host Middle Tennessee paced the field of 18 on day one, shooting a team total 590 to lead Morehead State by seven strokes, while Jacksonville State's Maya Parsons and Southern Illinois' Cassie Rushing sit deadlocked in first at even-par after the first 36 holes.

The final round of the Blue Raider Invitational will get underway Tuesday morning at 8:30.
