Trojans Nearly Perfect on Sunday at Clemson

CLEMSON, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team wrapped up action at the Duckworth Fall Classic hosted by Clemson on Sunday with a 6-1 record on the day, including Olivia Brooke Durden's singles flight win.
Durden defeated Audrey Coventry of Wofford in the finals of the seventh singles flight, 6-3, 6-3, earning the Trojans' second championship of the weekend. Candela Munoz Giron and Rosaura Ramirez-Vega won the third doubles flight on Saturday.
Durden's win wasn't the only on the day for the Trojans as five others posted victories, including Karoline Grymel who took third place in the first singles flight with a straight-set win over Virginie Stein of Kennesaw State, 6-0, 6-1.
Anja Cosovic also picked up a third place finish in her flight, sixth singles, with a straight-set win over Tess Lagerkvist of Kennesaw State, 6-2, 6-2.
Troy had three players win consolation finals on the day. Lyubov Dorofeeva was victorious over Jordan Wylie of Emory in the second flight, 6-2, 6-4 for the first consolation win.
Munoz Giron won over Mariya Krachok of South Alabama in the fourth flight consolation final, 6-4, 7-6. In addition, Ramirez-Vega won over Meliisa Kromer of Lipscomb in the eighth flight consolation final, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Troy returns to play next weekend at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Alabama. The tournament runs from Friday to Monday.
