Three Trojans make the list after claiming second place in the tournament.
Mobile Ala. – The Port City Classic All-Tournament team has been released which includes three Trojans. Freshmen Paige McMillan and Alissa Jones along with junior Ruth Sutcliffe all made the list with their efforts in Troy's second place finish in the tournament this past weekend.
Alissa Jones scored her fifth goal of the season in the second half against Presbyterian Blue Hose in Troy's second match of the tournament. The goal tied the match and sparked an aggressive attack by the Trojan offense that lead to the 3-1 victory.
Paige McMillan's first goal as a Trojan came as the game-winning goal against Presbyterian College.
Ruth Sutcliffe earned a Sun Belt Player of the Week nomination with her efforts in the tournament. The Trojan forward was able to score in both games of the tournament, including a goal late in the match against Austin Peay which prevented the Lady Governors from securing a shutout.
Despite a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Austin Peay on Friday, the Trojans were able to secure second place in the tournament with a 3-1 victory over Presbyterian College. South Alabama would go on to claim first place in their home tournament as Austin Peay came away with third.
The Trojans will be back in action Friday as they take on Mississippi State in Starkville at 7 pm.
