The Trojans lose to the Bulldogs in an early second half goal.
Ruston, La. – The Troy soccer team fell to Louisiana Tech by a quick second half goal on Sunday.
Troy (1-2) held the tough Louisiana Tech (3-1-1) team scoreless for the entire first half, even limiting the Bulldogs to only four shots.
“We were much more organized defensively, but struggled to transition to the attack,” Head Coach Chris Bentley said.
Louisiana tech would net a quick goal in the 46' of the second half off the foot of junior Finola Corley. The goal would be the virtual game winner as the Bulldogs defeat the Trojans 1-0.
“We can build off this loss,” said Bentley.
The defeat comes as the Trojans second straight loss on the road. However, Troy will be looking to their first home match for a shot at redemption when they take on Nicholls State in the opening day of the Trojan Classic soccer tournament.
Be there when the Trojans take on the Colonels in their home opener on Friday at 3 pm.
