Ghorbel Chosen for Davis Cup

Sami Ghorbel will represent his country for a second time this year

For the second time this calendar year, Troy University freshman Sami Ghorbel will represent his home country Tunisia in Davis Cup play overseas.
Ghorbel will compete in singles play for the second time this year, as he fell in his only previous singles match against England.
Tunisia travels to Ireland in the Europe/Africa Zone Group II playoffs, which begins play on Friday, bidding to avoid immediate relegation back to Group III. The Irish won the only previous meeting between the two nations in 2005.
Newly promoted Tunisia lost to England 4-1 in the Europe/Africa Zone Group II first round in Bolton. The hosts trailed 1-0 after the opening match, but turned the scoreline around with two singles wins for James Wards and a doubles victory for Colin Fleming and Jamie Murray.
Tunisia's best Davis Cup performances have been reaching Europe/Africa Zone Group II, which it has achieved in 1988, 1989, 1993, 2003, 2004, 2008 and 2011.
