Women's Tennis Seeds Updated

MOBILE, Ala. – The seeding for the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship has been updated to reflect the most recent rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
The official ITA rankings for this week, which now include all matches from the weekend, have changed the rank of a few of the women's teams. In line with the Sun Belt Conference's sport regulations for tennis, the Games Committee – consisting of university administrators, a Sun Belt Conference official, a referee and a head coach -- that was appointed for the tournament was consulted to rectify the situation. The committee agreed that the official ITA rankings for this week need to be used in re-seeding the tournament based on the league's sport regulations for tennis.
In addition, the committee took into consideration that the coaches had specifically agreed to utilize the results from the April 16-17 weekend prior to seeding the tournament.
The updated standings for the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championships are as follows:

5. ASU
6. FAU
7. DU
8. TROY
9. MTSU
10. UALR
11. USA
12. WKU
The seeds for the men's championship have not changed.
The women's championship will begin on Thursday, April 21 at 9 a.m., as No. 9 Middle Tennessee and No. 8 Troy will battle along with No. 12 Western Kentucky vs. No. 5 Arkansas State, No. 10 UALR vs. No. 7 Denver, and No. 11 South Alabama vs. No. 6 Florida Atlantic.
Men's action will also begin on Thursday with three men's matches at 2 p.m. No. 2 Florida Atlantic faces No. 7 Western Kentucky along with No. 3 South Alabama vs. No. 6 Troy and No. 4 Middle Tennessee vs. No. 5 Louisiana-Lafayette.
