Eddie Lynn broke a 14-year old record in the discus on Saturday
MOBILE, Ala. (TroyTrojans.com) – For the second time this season, a school record was broken in the sport of track and field; however, this time the record that was broken stood for 14 years prior to Saturday.
Sophomore Eddie Lynn finished fourth overall in the discus and as the second best collegiate thrower in the competition; however, he broke a record that stood for over a decade. The sophomore finished with a distance of 50.51 meters, which beat the mark set by Marc McIntyre set back in 1999 at 50.09 meters.
“Saturday was a great day for the Trojans,” Troy assistant coach Chip Brundage said. “Eddie Lynn had a fantastic day with personal bests in the shot put and the hammer, not to mention that he broke a 14-year school record in the discus.”
