Weathers Selected to All-Sun Belt Team

Troy's fourth Straight Season with All-SBC Selection
NEW ORLEANS - Troy sophomore guard Will Weathers has been named to the 2011 All-Sun Belt team as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Weathers was selected to the third team. His selection marks the fourth-straight season the Trojans have had a player on any of the three all-conference teams, and the fifth time in six seasons of membership that Troy has had a student-athlete honored.
Brandon Hazzard (first team) and Mike Vogler (second team) both made the squad last season, while Hazzard (first), Vogler (third) and Richard Delk (second) made the lists following the 2008-09 campaign.
O'Darien Bassett (second) was the lone selection in 2008 and Bobby Dixon (first) was Troy's first selection as a member of the Sun Belt in 2006. The Trojans did not have a player selected in 2007.
A native of New Orleans, Weathers led the Sun Belt in assists per game (6.7), minutes per game (36.9) and steals per game (1.9). He also ranked in the top 20 in scoring (12.2 ppg) and free throw percentage (74.5 percent).
Weathers and the Trojans will be back in action on Saturday in the first round of the 2011 Sun Belt Conference tournament. Troy will face North Texas in a rematch of the 2010 championship game. Tip-off is set for 6:30 pm in Summit Arena.
